About GoDaddy MCP Server
GoDaddy MCP Server is a TypeScript server for AI agents and applications that need to check domain availability through GoDaddy's API. It supports single or batch checks, two check types, and an option to include domains available for transfer.
Key features
- 01Check one or multiple domains
- 02FAST and FULL check types
- 03Option to include transferable domains
Use cases
- 01Check a candidate domain before registration
- 02Compare availability across a list of names
MCP support
The server exposes GoDaddy domain availability checks as MCP tools for AI agents and applications. It requires GoDaddy API credentials through environment variables.
Configuration
Local server config is the same for every client. Copy it into your client’s MCP config file.
npx -y godaddy-mcpGODADDY_API_BASE_URLGODADDY_API_KEYSecretGODADDY_API_SECRETSecretLocal servers need a runtime on your machine (e.g. Node.js 18+). Config file locations differ by client; see your client’s docs.
Tools
Local servers expose tools only once running on your machine, and the maintainer has not provided a tool list.
Details
From the project READMEGoDaddy MCP Server
godaddy-mcp is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server implemented in TypeScript. It interfaces with GoDaddy's Domain Availability API, allowing AI agents and applications to check the availability of single or multiple domain names through standardized tools.

Overview
This project utilizes the @modelcontextprotocol/sdk to create an MCP-compliant server. MCP is an open standard that enables seamless integration between AI models and external tools or data sources.(1)
By exposing GoDaddy's domain availability checks as MCP tools, this server allows AI agents to programmatically verify domain availability.
Features
- Check the availability of a single or multiple domains at once.
- Supports both
FASTandFULLcheck types. - Optionally include domains available for transfer.
- Implements MCP tools for integration with AI agents.
Environment Variables
Add below environment variables to your mcpserver's configuration:
- GODADDY_API_BASE_URL: Base URL for GoDaddy's API.
https://api.ote-godaddy.comorhttps://api.godaddy.com. - GODADDY_API_KEY: Your GoDaddy API key.
- GODADDY_API_SECRET: Your GoDaddy API secret.
MCP Configuration
To integrate this server with an MCP client, include the following configuration in your MCP JSON:
{
"mcpServers": {
"godaddy": {
"command": "npx",
"args": ["-y", "godaddy-mcp"],
"env": {
"GODADDY_API_BASE_URL": "<godaddy-api-base-url>",
"GODADDY_API_KEY": "<godaddy-api-key>",
"GODADDY_API_SECRET": "<godaddy-api-secret>"

New to MCP?
From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.
An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
