About Cross-border Landed Cost
Cross-border Landed Cost is an MCP server that estimates the import charges B2C customers may pay for parcels shipped to supported destinations. It breaks down duty, VAT/GST, exemptions, and checkout collection, and reports when a product duty rate is missing.
Key features
- 01Estimate duty and VAT/GST for supported destinations
- 02Apply destination de minimis rules
- 03Show costs in destination and requested currencies
- 04Report checkout collection and exemptions
- 05List rules, rates, and last-checked dates
Use cases
- 01Estimate customer import charges before checkout
- 02Compare landed costs across destination countries
- 03Review applicable rules and identify missing duty rates
MCP support
The MCP server provides `landed_cost` for a cost breakdown and `landed_cost_rules` for the rules and rates used. The project also offers a hosted MCP endpoint and a REST endpoint.
Configuration
Local server config is the same for every client. Copy it into your client’s MCP config file.

landed_cost | Full breakdown in destination currency and yours, what is collected at checkout, exemptions, warnings, sources |
landed_cost_rules | The rules and rates used, with the date they were last checked |
Product duty rates depend on the HS code and origin (and US additional tariffs), so pass dutyRate when you know it — the tool never invents one and tells you when it is missing. FX: open.er-api.com mid-market (or pass fxRate). Estimates only: customs uses its own rate and valuation; carrier fees, excise and anti-dumping duties are not included.

An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
