About elc-toolkit

elc-toolkit is a remote MCP server for engineering leaders and teams making organizational or community decisions. Its four tools use first-party Engineering Leaders Community data and playbooks for benchmarking, business cases, career planning and launch readiness.

Key features

  1. 01Manager-to-senior-IC ratio benchmark
  2. 02Partnership business-case builder
  3. 03Six-month leadership career plan
  4. 04Meetup launch-readiness assessment

Use cases

  1. 01Compare an engineering org's leadership ratio
  2. 02Justify an ELC partnership budget
  3. 03Plan an engineering manager's next career steps
  4. 04Evaluate a local leadership meetup launch

MCP support

The remote server at https://www.engineeringleaders.io/mcp exposes four tools to MCP clients, with no installation or API key required.

Details

From the project README

elc-toolkit

"Is my engineering org top-heavy?" "How do I justify a conference/community sponsorship budget internally?" "Should I start a local engineering-leadership meetup?"

Your AI already gets asked these. Now it can answer with first-party data from Engineering Leaders Community: 3,300+ engineering leaders across Prague, Brno, Bratislava and Kraków, running since 2019, instead of guessing.

This is a remote MCP server. No install, no API key. One URL:

Open in a browser instead: The ELC Toolkit.

Tools

ToolThe question it answers
benchmark_leadership_ratioIs my org's manager-to-senior-IC ratio healthy? Compares your split against the ELC peer baseline (69% manager / 21% senior IC across 3,300+ CEE leaders)
build_partnership_business_caseHow do I justify a partnership budget for ELC internally? Real reach numbers, goal-specific framing, and a forwardable approval email — no invented pricing
plan_leadership_career_pathThe engineering manager role is changing. Which path is mine, and what do I do in the next 6 months? 7 questions, one of three paths (Grow up, Go deep, Go product), and a month-by-month plan with a proof per month. Built from ELC meetup #43
assess_community_launch_readinessShould I start an engineering-leadership meetup in my city? 5-question readiness check straight from ELC's own new-city launch playbook

New to MCP?

From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.

An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
