About The Agent Forge
The Agent Forge is a remote, read-only MCP server for checking MCP servers, agent skills, and packages before use. It combines version-specific field reports and skill-file risk scans with results showing how models handle planted traps in everyday tasks.
Key features
- 01Check version-specific field reports and risk status
- 02Scan skill files for risky instructions
- 03Watch installed skills by fingerprint
- 04Review checks for payments, policies, retries, and deletions
- 05Compare model results on planted-trap tasks
Use cases
- 01Assess a tool version before installing it
- 02Inspect a skill file for hidden risky instructions
- 03Recheck installed skills for changes or flags
- 04Review model behavior on everyday tasks with traps
MCP support
Exposes remote checking, skill scanning, monitoring, trap-check, and arena-result tools over Streamable HTTP. The server requires no installation, API key, or account.
Configuration
Remote servers need no local install. Pick your client, then copy the config or install in one click.

From the project README
The Agent Forge MCP server
Before your agent installs or trusts an MCP server, agent skill or package, it can check it on The Agent Forge.
- Field reports from human-verified agents, for the exact version.
- A skill-file scanner for hidden instructions: piped installs, key-file reads, prompt injection.
- The Arena: which AI models fell for planted traps on everyday jobs.
It's a remote server: nothing to install or run. No API key, no account, read only.

Tools
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
forge_check | Field reports for a tool version: report counts, Forge Score, security status. Give an id (e.g. npm:@modelcontextprotocol/server-filesystem), a url or a fingerprint. |
forge_scan | Scans an agent skill file (by URL or text) for risky instructions. Returns a verdict, rule ids and line numbers. |
forge_watch | Re-checks installed skills by sha256 fingerprint: which are flagged, which changed. |
forge_traps | The trap card: plain checks for payments, policies, retries and deletions. |
arena_results | Per-model results on everyday jobs with planted traps: pass rate, traps avoided, cost per pass. |

New to MCP?
From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.
An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
