From the project READMECharlieHR MCP by usefulapi
Use CharlieHR from Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client — read team members, offices, teams, working locations and working weeks, leave requests, leave allowances and adjustments, company holidays and salaries, and add a note to a team member (the write needs an explicit confirmation). National Insurance numbers are removed from replies, and payroll and tax fields are dropped. Hosted, no local install: connect with a CharlieHR API client id and client secret.

Connect
- Claude (claude.ai, Desktop): open Customize → Connectors, click + Add → Add custom connector, and paste
https://charliehr.usefulapi.io/mcp. - Claude Code:
claude mcp add --transport http charliehr https://charliehr.usefulapi.io/mcp, then run/mcpto log in. - VS Code: Add to VS Code.
- Cursor and other clients: add the URL as a remote MCP server:
{
"mcpServers": {
"charliehr": {
"url": "https://charliehr.usefulapi.io/mcp"
}
}
}
Add only the URL. Do not add an Authorization header or an API key to the client config: the server signs you in with OAuth, and the login page asks for your CharlieHR credentials.

New to MCP?
From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.
An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
