About Exoscale MCP by usefulapi
A hosted MCP server for inspecting Exoscale resources and performing basic virtual machine operations. It is for Exoscale users who want to view cloud infrastructure data or start, stop, and reboot instances through an MCP client, without local installation.
Key features
- 01Inspect instances, types, and templates
- 02View security groups, IPs, and volumes
- 03Inspect SKS clusters and DNS data
- 04Read quotas and usage reports
- 05Start, stop, and reboot instances
Use cases
- 01Check instance details and available types
- 02Review storage, network, or SKS resources
- 03Inspect DNS domains and records
- 04Operate virtual machines and review quotas
MCP support
Exposes Exoscale resource inspection and instance-control tools to MCP clients through a hosted remote endpoint. Users connect with their Exoscale credentials.
Configuration
Remote servers need no local install. Pick your client, then copy the config or install in one click.

Details
From the project READMEExoscale MCP by usefulapi
Use Exoscale from Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client — instances, templates, security groups, IPs, volumes, SKS clusters, DNS, quotas and usage. Hosted, no local install: connect with your own Exoscale credentials.
Live endpoint: https://exoscale.usefulapi.io/mcp · Homepage: https://usefulapi.io/exoscale
Connect
- Claude (claude.ai, Desktop): open Customize → Connectors, click + Add → Add custom connector, and paste
https://exoscale.usefulapi.io/mcp. - Claude Code:
claude mcp add --transport http exoscale https://exoscale.usefulapi.io/mcp, then run/mcpto log in. - VS Code: Add to VS Code.
- Cursor and other clients: add the URL as a remote MCP server:
{
"mcpServers": {
"exoscale": {
"url": "https://exoscale.usefulapi.io/mcp"
}
}
}
Add only the URL. Do not add an Authorization header or an API key to the client config: the server signs you in with OAuth, and the login page asks for your Exoscale credentials.

New to MCP?
From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.
An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
