A hosted MCP server that connects MCP clients to a Knack no-code database. It supports record operations and lets clients inspect the application's objects, fields, and schema.

Key features

  1. 01Inspect application schema
  2. 02List objects and fields
  3. 03Read records
  4. 04Create and update records

  1. 01Review database structure before querying
  2. 02Retrieve records from Knack
  3. 03Maintain records through an MCP client

MCP support

Exposes Knack schema inspection and record read/write tools to MCP clients through a hosted endpoint. Connection requires the Knack Application ID and REST API Key.

Knack MCP by usefulapi

Connect Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client to your Knack no-code database — read, create, update and delete records, and inspect objects, fields and schema.

Live endpoint: https://knack.usefulapi.io/mcp · Homepage: https://usefulapi.io/knack

Connect

  • Claude (claude.ai, Desktop): open Customize → Connectors, click + Add → Add custom connector, and paste https://knack.usefulapi.io/mcp.
  • Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http knack https://knack.usefulapi.io/mcp, then run /mcp to log in.
  • VS Code: Add to VS Code.
  • Cursor and other clients: add the URL as a remote MCP server:
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "knack": {
      "url": "https://knack.usefulapi.io/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Add only the URL. Do not add an Authorization header or an API key to the client config: the server signs you in with OAuth, and the login page asks for your Knack credentials.

Step-by-step setup, where to find your credentials, and FAQ: https://usefulapi.io/knack/

On first connect you'll paste two credentials — your Application ID and REST API Key (Knack Builder → Settings → API & Code). They're sent as the X-Knack-Application-Id and X-Knack-REST-API-Key headers on every request.

New to MCP?

From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.

An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
