About Lambda Labs MCP by usefulapi
Lambda Labs MCP by usefulapi connects a Lambda Labs account to Claude, Cursor, and other MCP clients. It is for users managing GPU instances, providing queries for instances and related resources alongside tools to launch, restart, terminate, or update instances.
Key features
- 01View GPU instances and instance types
- 02Query images, filesystems, and firewall rules
- 03View audit events
- 04Launch, restart, terminate, or update instances
- 05Create or delete filesystems
Use cases
- 01Inspect GPU instances and available configurations
- 02Review filesystems and firewall rules
- 03Launch or restart GPU instances
- 04Terminate instances or manage filesystems
MCP support
The hosted MCP server exposes read tools for Lambda Labs instances, images, filesystems, and firewall data, along with tools for managing instances and filesystems.
Configuration
Remote servers need no local install. Pick your client, then copy the config or install in one click.

Details
From the project READMELambda Labs MCP by usefulapi
Use your Lambda Labs account from Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client — read GPU instances, instance types, images, filesystems and firewall rules, and launch or terminate instances. Hosted, no local install: connect with your own credentials.
Live endpoint: https://lambda-labs.usefulapi.io/mcp · Homepage: https://usefulapi.io
Connect
- Claude (claude.ai, Desktop): open Customize → Connectors, click + Add → Add custom connector, and paste
https://lambda-labs.usefulapi.io/mcp. - Claude Code:
claude mcp add --transport http lambda-labs https://lambda-labs.usefulapi.io/mcp, then run/mcpto log in. - VS Code: Add to VS Code.
- Cursor and other clients: add the URL as a remote MCP server:
{
"mcpServers": {
"lambda-labs": {
"url": "https://lambda-labs.usefulapi.io/mcp"
}
}
}
Add only the URL. Do not add an Authorization header or an API key to the client config: the server signs you in with OAuth, and the login page asks for your Lambda Labs credentials.
Step-by-step setup, where to find your credentials, and FAQ: https://usefulapi.io/lambda-labs/
On first connect you'll provide your Lambda Cloud API key (Lambda Cloud dashboard → API keys). It is validated, stored per-user, and scoped to you — no keys in config files.

New to MCP?
From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.
An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
