About Connections

AWS, GitHub and connected services from your agent, no keys to paste, plus local shell and browser

Configuration

Local server config is the same for every client. Copy it into your client’s MCP config file.

mcp.json · Universal config
{
"mcpServers": {
"lunarwerx-connections": {
"command": "npx",
"args": [
"-y",
"connections-mcp"
],
"env": {
"CONNECTIONS_WORKSPACE": "<CONNECTIONS_WORKSPACE>"
}
}
}
}
Run commandnpx -y connections-mcp
Environment variables to set
CONNECTIONS_WORKSPACEAbsolute path to the folder this MCP session operates on. Defaults to the client's working directory; set it only when the client cannot supply one.

Local servers need a runtime on your machine (e.g. Node.js 18+). Config file locations differ by client; see your client’s docs.

ParameterTypeRequiredDescription
limitintegerNoYour CONTEXT budget - bounds the whole response, not just the endpoint list (default 8, max 25).
querystringNoWhat to find; blank → your full local-tool inventory.
servicestringNo
verbosebooleanNofalse (default): endpoint hits list param names only, local tools and Script Vault instruments a one-line summary. true: each hit's full parameter schema and description.
use_casestringNoWhat you are trying to get done, in a sentence (e.g. 'deploy the pay lambda and check its logs'). Sharpens the local-tool ranking; alone it is the query. The top local hit lists the tools usually run next here, and any hit its known pitfalls.

From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.

An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
