About madjik-io

madjik-io is an MCP server that gives AI agents access to Black Belt Labs market metrics, including quantum-computed portfolio and risk measures and AI-enhanced indicators. It is for agents that need to retrieve, browse, or search this metric catalog.

Key features

  1. 01Fetch metrics by ID
  2. 02Retrieve quantum-computed metrics
  3. 03Retrieve AI-enhanced metrics
  4. 04Composite risk snapshots
  5. 05Browse and search metric catalog

Use cases

  1. 01Checking portfolio optimisation metrics
  2. 02Reviewing quantum VaR estimates
  3. 03Exploring sentiment and regime indicators

MCP support

It exposes Black Belt Labs metric retrieval, catalog browsing, and search tools to MCP clients. Access requires a Black Belt Labs API key.

Configuration

Local server config is the same for every client. Copy it into your client’s MCP config file.

mcp.json · Universal config
{
"mcpServers": {
"madjik-io": {
"command": "npx",
"args": [
"-y",
"madjik-mcp-server"
],
"env": {
"MADJIK_API_KEY": "<MADJIK_API_KEY>"
}
}
}
}
Run commandnpx -y madjik-mcp-server
Environment variables to set
MADJIK_API_KEYSecretMadjik API key (get one at https://api.madjik.io/pricing)

Local servers need a runtime on your machine (e.g. Node.js 18+). Config file locations differ by client; see your client’s docs.

Local servers expose tools only once running on your machine, and the maintainer has not provided a tool list.

Details

From the project README

@blackbeltlabs/mcp-server

Quantum-finance intelligence for AI agents.

Connect any MCP-compatible AI agent to Black Belt Labs metrics — quantum-computed portfolio optimisation, VaR simulation, AI-enhanced regime detection, sentiment, and cross-asset risk signals.

Requirements

  • Node.js ≥ 18
  • A Black Belt Labs API key (bbl_live_... or bbl_test_...) — get one at blackbeltlabs.fi

Note: Madjik API keys (mk_...) are not accepted. BBL keys are issued separately at blackbeltlabs.fi.

Quickstart

Claude Desktop

Add to ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json (macOS) or %APPDATA%\Claude\claude_desktop_config.json (Windows):

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "blackbeltlabs": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "@blackbeltlabs/mcp-server"],
      "env": {
        "BLACKBELTLABS_API_KEY": "bbl_live_your_key_here"
      }
    }
  }
}

Restart Claude Desktop. You can now ask: "What is the current quantum VaR estimate from Black Belt Labs?"

Other MCP clients
BLACKBELTLABS_API_KEY=bbl_live_your_key npx @blackbeltlabs/mcp-server

New to MCP?

From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.

An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
