Turniermeister — Tournament Engine
RemoteAbout Turniermeister — Tournament Engine
Turniermeister is an MCP server for preparing real club and amateur tournaments through an AI conversation. It creates a bracket tournament and returns a claim link for taking it over in an account.
Key features
- 01Tournament setup through AI conversation
- 02Knockout and group-plus-knockout formats
- 03Fair mathematical seeding and schedules
- 04Encrypted participant names
- 05Claim link with 14-day validity
Use cases
- 01Preparing a club tournament without re-entering details
- 02Generating a bracket and tournament schedule
- 03Sharing a prepared tournament for account takeover
MCP support
Exposes the `prepare_tournament` tool to MCP clients. It prepares tournament details and returns a claim link.
Configuration
Remote servers need no local install. Pick your client, then copy the config or install in one click.

Tools
1| Parameter | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| mode | integer | Yes | Tournament mode as a numeric ITournamentMode value from the Turniermeister catalog. Values: 0 = knockout (single elimination), 1 = double elimination, 2 = single-day league, 3 = swiss system, 4 = multilevel knockout (placement tournament), 5 = league (round robin), 6 = ladder, 7 = point series, 8 = group stage + knockout, 9 = swiss system + knockout final, 10 = league + playoff final, 11 = best-of-N knockout, 12 = time trial (best time), 13 = time trial (combined), 14 = time trial (single run), 15 = time trial (average), 16 = team match. Default for knockout tournaments: 0. Unknown values are rejected. |
| name | string | Yes | Tournament name as agreed with the user. Max 120 chars. |
| schedule | object | No | Optional schedule. Set only the values the user explicitly named; omitted values keep the app defaults and can be changed in the app after the takeover. |
| schedule.fields | integer | No | Number of playing fields (1-20). Only if the user named it. |
| schedule.startTime | string | No | Tournament start time in 24h format "HH:MM", e.g. "09:00". Only if the user named it. |
| schedule.pauseMinutes | integer | No | Break between matches in minutes (0-120). Only if the user named it. |
| schedule.playingMinutes | integer | No | Playing time per match in minutes (1-360). Only if the user named it. |
| teamCount | integer | No | Number of teams. Required unless participants are supplied. Must match participants length if both are given. The app supports up to 250 teams (8 for single-day league mode, or 128 with mode 2 and templateKey preset-eisstock); larger values are rejected during preparation. For real amateur tournaments keep it around 64 or below. |
| clientInfo | string | No | Optional free-form identifier of the calling agent, used for funnel attribution only. |
| templateKey | string | No | Optional catalog template key (e.g. preset-padel). Omit instead of guessing. |
| participants | array | No | Participant names, ONLY when the user explicitly provided them. Stored encrypted and migrated at claim time. |
| idempotencyKey | string | Yes | Unique key for this preparation request (UUID). Same key returns the same preparation instead of a duplicate. |
| competitionType | string | No | Fixed to "bracket" — other competition types are not exposed yet. |
Details
From the project READMETurniermeister — Tournament Engine (MCP)
MCP server for Turniermeister, a tournament engine for real club and amateur tournaments: fair mathematical seeding, schedules, live results via QR code, helper access and award ceremonies.
Endpoint
https://app.turniermeister.at/mcp
- Transport: Streamable HTTP, stateless (JSON responses)
- Authentication: none (public discovery channel, rate-limited)
Tool: prepare_tournament
Prepares a real tournament from a single AI conversation and returns a claim link:
- The assistant prepares the tournament (name, format, team count, optional encrypted participant names).
- The user opens the claim link in a browser, signs up or creates an account.
- The tournament is taken over with one click — no retyping, schedules and live results included.
Claim links are valid for 14 days. Always send a unique idempotencyKey (UUID) per
preparation — retries return the newest link instead of creating duplicates. Validation
problems are returned as structured error JSON the agent can fix on its own.
MVP scope: competitionType: "bracket" (knockout / group + knockout). More competition
types are on the roadmap.

New to MCP?
From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.
An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
