About Tattoo Brief MCP
Tattoo Brief MCP is a local, deterministic server for planning tattoo concepts before discussing them with an artist. It helps people structure a brief, assess detail legibility at a chosen size, and prepare line-art prompts without API keys.
Key features
- 01Generate a Markdown tattoo brief
- 02Assess detail blur risk by size
- 03Suggest a minimum tattoo size
- 04Create line-art and negative prompts
- 05Deterministic results without API keys
Use cases
- 01Preparing an idea for an artist consultation
- 02Checking whether fine details suit a small tattoo
- 03Drafting a prompt for an AI tattoo generator
MCP support
Exposes three deterministic tools—brief generation, small-size legibility checks, and line-art prompt creation—to MCP clients over local stdio.
Configuration
Local server config is the same for every client. Copy it into your client’s MCP config file.
We haven’t collected a package or remote endpoint for this server. Follow the instructions in the project README.
Tools
Local servers expose tools only once running on your machine, and the maintainer has not provided a tool list.

A small Model Context Protocol server that helps you plan a tattoo before you talk to an artist. It runs locally over stdio, needs no API keys, and every tool is deterministic (same input, same output).

Tools
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
build_tattoo_brief | idea, style, placement, size_cm (+ optional color, must_include, avoid) → a Markdown brief with placement notes and questions to ask your artist. |
check_small_size_legibility | size_cm + details (e.g. fine_lines, small_text, dotwork, dense_shading, tiny_negative_space, faces_portrait, color_gradients, white_ink, many_small_elements, bold_outline) → per-detail blur risk and a suggested minimum size. |
line_art_prompt | subject (+ optional style, line_weight, composition, extra) → a clean line-art prompt and negative prompt for an AI tattoo generator. |
Important: the legibility check uses simple rules of thumb. It is not a guarantee about how a tattoo will heal or age, and nothing here is medical advice. Your tattoo artist has the final say.

New to MCP?
From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.
An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
