MCP from API Definition for Timefold Quickstarts
LocalAbout MCP from API Definition for Timefold Quickstarts
An example Quarkus-based MCP server for modifying selected aspects of Timefold Quickstarts. It uses simple tool endpoints and a generated API client; the README notes that it requires a special Quickstarts branch and is primarily an inspiration project.
Key features
- 01Modify selected Quickstarts aspects
- 02Simple MCP tool endpoints
- 03Generated client from OpenAPI Spec
- 04Quarkus-based setup
Use cases
- 01Explore an MCP integration for Timefold Quickstarts
- 02Expose Quickstarts modifications as MCP tools
MCP support
The server provides tool endpoints for MCP clients such as Claude Desktop or Goose. The README presents it as an example and says it requires a special Timefold Quickstarts branch.
Configuration
Local server config is the same for every client. Copy it into your client’s MCP config file.
We haven’t collected a package or remote endpoint for this server. Follow the instructions in the project README.
Tools
Local servers expose tools only once running on your machine, and the maintainer has not provided a tool list.
Details
From the project READMEMCP from API Definition for Timefold Quickstarts
This repository contains the code for an MCP server which allows you to modify certain aspects of the Timefold Quickstarts.
Note
This repository doesn't work with the default quickstarts of Timefold, they require a special branch. Consider this more as a project for inspiration.
Architecture
I have chosen to use a barebones setup using Quarkus:
- Some simple Tool endpoints, these can be used by an MCP Client (like Claude desktop or Goose).
- A generated API client from the OpenAPI Spec.
Run Config
Add this configuration to the Claude Configuration, it will use JBang to run the application.

From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.
An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
