About Agentis MCP
Agentis MCP is a Python framework for building custom and multi-agent systems that use MCP servers for tools and resources. It offers transport and connection-management options for developers assembling agent workflows.
Key features
- 01MCP tool and resource access
- 02Multi-agent workflow orchestration
- 03Custom agent API
- 04stdio and SSE transports
- 05Persistent and temporary connections
- 06Aggregation of multiple servers
Use cases
- 01Building agents with MCP tools
- 02Coordinating multi-agent workflows
- 03Combining tools from multiple servers
MCP support
It connects agents to MCP servers for tool access and resource retrieval, with support for stdio and SSE transports. It can aggregate multiple servers.
Configuration
Local server config is the same for every client. Copy it into your client’s MCP config file.
We haven’t collected a package or remote endpoint for this server. Follow the instructions in the project README.
Tools
Local servers expose tools only once running on your machine, and the maintainer has not provided a tool list.
Details
From the project READMEAgentis MCP
A flexible multi-agent framework for building powerful AI agents with MCP server connectivity.
Features
- Connect to MCP servers for tool access and resource retrieval
- Build multi-agent workflows with powerful orchestration
- Simple and intuitive API for creating custom agents
- Flexible configuration system
- Support for different transport mechanisms (stdio, SSE)
- Persistent and temporary connection management
- Aggregation of multiple tool servers
Installation
pip install agentis-mcp
Quick Start
import asyncio
from agentis_mcp import Agent, AgentContext
from agentis_mcp.config import load_config
async def main():
# Load the configuration from a YAML file
config = load_config("config.yaml")
# Create an agent context
context = AgentContext(config)
# Create an agent with the context
async with Agent(context) as agent:
# Run a task with the agent
result = await agent.run("What's the weather in San Francisco?")
print(result)
asyncio.run(main())

New to MCP?
From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.
An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
