About MCP Cases

MCP Cases is a format based on the Model Context Protocol for describing server behavior and capabilities. It is for server authors and client developers, supporting tests, mocks, protocol validation, and documentation generation.

Key features

  1. 01Specify MCP server behavior
  2. 02Autotest servers
  3. 03Mock servers for prototyping and client tests
  4. 04Validate protocol adherence
  5. 05Document capabilities in machine- and human-readable form
  6. 06Generate documentation without starting a server

Use cases

  1. 01Autotesting an MCP server
  2. 02Prototyping a server mock for client testing
  3. 03Checking a library's protocol adherence
  4. 04Generating server capability documentation

MCP support

MCP Cases is a format based on MCP for specifying server behavior; it can be used to test servers and clients, validate protocol adherence, and document server capabilities.

From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.

An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
