About Mcp Client Typescript
MCP Docs Server is a Node.js MCP server for searching and retrieving documentation snippets from popular AI/ML libraries. It uses Serper API for Google searches restricted to specified sources.
Key features
- 01Search AI/ML library documentation
- 02Retrieve documentation snippets
- 03Use Serper API for Google searches
Use cases
- 01Look up documentation for an AI/ML library
- 02Retrieve relevant documentation snippets during development
MCP support
It exposes the get_docs tool to MCP clients for searching and retrieving documentation. The server requires a Serper API key.
Configuration
Local server config is the same for every client. Copy it into your client’s MCP config file.
We haven’t collected a package or remote endpoint for this server. Follow the instructions in the project README.
Tools
Local servers expose tools only once running on your machine, and the maintainer has not provided a tool list.
Details
From the project README# MCP Docs Server

node server.js
🛠️ Usage
The server exposes one tool:
get_docs
-
Description: Searches the latest documentation for a given query and library.
-
Arguments:
query(string): e.g."Chroma DB"library(string): one of"langchain","llama-index","openai"
-
Returns: Plain text content fetched from the search results.
Example usage from a compatible MCP client:
node client.js path/to/server.js
📦 Dependencies

New to MCP?
From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.
An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
