MCP Development Server gives Claude project context for managing software development projects and runs code operations through Docker environments. It is for teams that need project files, build and test information, and development operations through MCP.
Key features
- 01Manage project context and files
- 02Create projects from templates
- 03Integrate with Git
- 04Run builds and tests through Docker
- 05Expose project status and test results
- 06Provide analysis and error diagnosis prompts
Use cases
- 01Initialize a software development project
- 02Review build status, artifacts, and test results
- 03Run project operations in Docker containers
- 04Analyze projects and diagnose errors
MCP support
The MCP server exposes project structure and files, build status, test results, and Docker status as resources. It also provides tools for project initialization, builds, tests, and Docker commands, plus prompts for analysis and diagnosis.
Configuration
Local server config is the same for every client. Copy it into your client’s MCP config file.
We haven’t collected a package or remote endpoint for this server. Follow the instructions in the project README.
Tools
Local servers expose tools only once running on your machine, and the maintainer has not provided a tool list.

New to MCP?
From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.
An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
