About 📬 mcp-index
mcp-index is a CLI for submitting a GitHub repository as an MCP server to mcprepository.com. It sends an indexing request for validation and processing.
Key features
- 01Submit a GitHub repository URL
- 02Request MCP server indexing
- 03Queue submissions for validation
Use cases
- 01Listing an MCP server project in the repository
- 02Submitting a repository for MCP compatibility checks
MCP support
The CLI sends GitHub repository URLs to the mcprepository.com indexing API for MCP server detection and processing; it does not itself expose an MCP server.
Configuration
Local server config is the same for every client. Copy it into your client’s MCP config file.
Tools
Local servers expose tools only once running on your machine, and the maintainer has not provided a tool list.
