About Devhelm Mcp Server

Devhelm MCP Server gives AI coding assistants access to DevHelm monitoring, incident, and alert management. Its tools cover monitor configuration, run results, dependency status, and status pages, while destructive or publishing actions use a confirmation step.

Key features

  1. 01Create, configure, and control monitors
  2. 02Manage code checks and monitor revisions
  3. 03Inspect run steps, logs, and artifacts
  4. 04Handle incidents and notification policies
  5. 05Manage dependencies, status pages, and test inboxes

Use cases

  1. 01Review service monitors and run history
  2. 02Investigate and update an incident
  3. 03Adjust alert channels and notification policies
  4. 04Test email and webhook intake flows

MCP support

This MCP server exposes DevHelm monitoring, incident, alerting, and related management tools to compatible clients through a hosted endpoint or local stdio.

Configuration

Local server config is the same for every client. Copy it into your client’s MCP config file.

mcp.json · Universal config
{
"mcpServers": {
"devhelmhq": {
"command": "uvx",
"args": [
"devhelm-mcp-server"
],
"env": {
"DEVHELM_API_TOKEN": "<DEVHELM_API_TOKEN>"
}
}
}
}
Run commanduvx devhelm-mcp-server
Environment variables to set
DEVHELM_API_TOKENSecretDevHelm API token for authentication

Local servers need a runtime on your machine (e.g. Node.js 18+). Config file locations differ by client; see your client’s docs.

DevHelm MCP Server

Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for DevHelm — gives AI coding assistants (Cursor, Claude Desktop, Windsurf, etc.) access to your uptime monitors, incidents, alerting, and more.

Quick Start

Hosted (recommended)

Use the hosted server at mcp.devhelm.io. Two connection modes:

Bearer auth:

URL: https://mcp.devhelm.io/mcp
Authorization: Bearer <your-api-token>

API key in URL (for clients that only accept a URL):

URL: https://mcp.devhelm.io/<your-api-token>/mcp
Local (stdio)
pip install devhelm-mcp-server
export DEVHELM_API_TOKEN=your-token
devhelm-mcp-server

Or with uvx (no install required):

export DEVHELM_API_TOKEN=your-token
uvx devhelm-mcp-server
Cursor / Claude Desktop

Add to your MCP config:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "devhelm": {
      "url": "https://mcp.devhelm.io/<your-api-token>/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Delete, publish and rollback return {status: "confirmation_required", changes, confirmationToken} first; call again with confirmation_token after the user agrees. Tokens are HMACs signed by the server process (set DEVHELM_MCP_CONFIRMATION_SECRET so every replica shares the key) and last 15 minutes. Errors come back as isError with every ErrorResponse field and a sentence for the agent.

New to MCP?

From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.

An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
