About Fastalert Mcp Server

FastAlert's official MCP server lets AI agents discover notification channels and send messages through the FastAlert API. Messages can include a title, content, actions, and images, and can go to one or more channels.

Key features

  1. 01List channels with optional name filtering
  2. 02Send notifications to one or more channels
  3. 03Add actions and images to messages
  4. 04Return structured JSON or readable text

Use cases

  1. 01Find a channel for service alerts
  2. 02Post a system update to multiple channels
  3. 03Send notifications with a link or image

MCP support

Provides the `list_channels` and `send_message` tools to MCP clients for finding FastAlert channels and sending notifications through the FastAlert API.

Configuration

Local server config is the same for every client. Copy it into your client’s MCP config file.

mcp.json · Universal config
{
"mcpServers": {
"fastalertnow": {
"command": "npx",
"args": [
"-y",
"fastalert-mcp-server"
]
}
}
}
Run commandnpx -y fastalert-mcp-server

Local servers need a runtime on your machine (e.g. Node.js 18+). Config file locations differ by client; see your client’s docs.

Packages
npmfastalert-mcp-server1.3.1

FastAlert MCP Server

Official Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for FastAlert. This server allows AI agents (like Claude, ChatGPT, and Cursor) to list of your channels and send notifications directly through the FastAlert API.

Features

  • Channel Discovery: List all of your channels with optional name filtering.
  • Send Notifications: Send rich messages (title, content, actions, images) to one or multiple channels.

Quick Start

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "fastalert": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "fastalert-mcp-server"],
      "env": {
        "API_KEY": "your-api-key-here"
      }
    }
  }
}

You can find your API key by visiting FastAlert and navigating to Settings.

Available Tools

The following tools are available through this MCP server. Each tool can be called by an AI assistant to perform specific actions.

Returns a list of available FastAlert channels.

Input Parameters:

  • name (string, optional): A search term to filter channels by name.

Example Call:

        "subscriber": 1000
      }
    ]

New to MCP?

From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.

An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
