MCP support

The MCP server exposes tools for searching and managing krill.to bookmarks to MCP-compatible clients. It requires a krill.to API key.

Configuration

Local server config is the same for every client. Copy it into your client’s MCP config file.

mcp.json · Universal config
{
"mcpServers": {
"krillto": {
"command": "npx",
"args": [
"-y",
"@krillto/mcp-server"
],
"env": {
"KRILL_API_KEY": "<KRILL_API_KEY>"
}
}
}
}
Run commandnpx -y @krillto/mcp-server
Environment variables to set
KRILL_API_KEYSecret

Local servers need a runtime on your machine (e.g. Node.js 18+). Config file locations differ by client; see your client’s docs.

Packages
npm@krillto/mcp-server

Tools

No tool list yet

Local servers expose tools only once running on your machine, and the maintainer has not provided a tool list.

@krillto/mcp-server

MCP server for krill.to — search and manage your Twitter/X bookmarks from any AI agent.

Works with Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, OpenClaw, and any MCP-compatible client.

Quick Start

1. Get your API key

Sign in to krill.to, go to Settings → API Key, and generate a key.

2. Configure your MCP client

Claude Desktop — add to claude_desktop_config.json:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "krill": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "@krillto/mcp-server"],
      "env": {
        "KRILL_API_KEY": "krill_your_key_here"
      }
    }
  }
}

Cursor — add to .cursor/mcp.json:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "krill": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "@krillto/mcp-server"],
      "env": {
        "KRILL_API_KEY": "krill_your_key_here"
      }
    }
  }
}

Claude Code — add to .claude/settings.json:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "krill": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "@krillto/mcp-server"],
      "env": {
        "KRILL_API_KEY": "krill_your_key_here"
      }
    }
  }
}

That's it. Your AI agent can now search your bookmarks.

New to MCP?

From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.

An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
