Template project to build MCP server using SpringBoot
LocalAbout Template project to build MCP server using SpringBoot
This SpringBoot template provides a starting structure for building MCP servers. Developers can test features through REST endpoints and use the example task, with unit and integration tests, as a guide for adding tools or resources.
Key features
- 01REST endpoints for testing features
- 02Example task feature
- 03Unit and integration tests
- 04Guidance for adding tools and resources
Use cases
- 01Test server features outside an MCP client
- 02Use the example task when building new tools or resources
MCP support
The project is a template for building MCP servers and includes instructions for configuring an MCP client such as Claude Desktop.
Configuration
Local server config is the same for every client. Copy it into your client’s MCP config file.
We haven’t collected a package or remote endpoint for this server. Follow the instructions in the project README.
Tools
Local servers expose tools only once running on your machine, and the maintainer has not provided a tool list.

New to MCP?
From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.
An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
