Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server for GraphQL Policies API
LocalAbout Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server for GraphQL Policies API
A Python MCP server for accessing policies through a GraphQL API associated with a TrueRAG environment. It is intended for MCP clients that need to query that API using configured credentials and endpoint details.
Key features
- 01Access policies through a GraphQL API
- 02Uses the MCP Python SDK and GQL library
- 03Configure API key and endpoint with environment variables
Use cases
- 01Connecting an MCP client to a TrueRAG GraphQL API
- 02Retrieving policy information through the configured API
MCP support
Exposes access to a TrueRAG GraphQL policies API for MCP clients. The API key and endpoint are configured through environment variables.
Configuration
Local server config is the same for every client. Copy it into your client’s MCP config file.
We haven’t collected a package or remote endpoint for this server. Follow the instructions in the project README.
Tools
Local servers expose tools only once running on your machine, and the maintainer has not provided a tool list.
Details
From the project READMEModel Context Protocol (MCP) Server for GraphQL Policies API
This repository contains a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server implementation for a GraphQL API that provides access to policies.
The server is built using the python SDK for MCP and uses the GQL library to interact with the GraphQL API.
Getting Started
Clone the repository
git clone https://github.com/Ad-Veritas/mcp-server-trueRAG.git
cd mcp-server-trueRAG
Make sure you have uv installed
uv --version
If not, you can install it using:
# On macOS and Linux.
curl -LsSf https://astral.sh/uv/install.sh | sh
# On Windows.
powershell -ExecutionPolicy ByPass -c "irm https://astral.sh/uv/install.ps1 | iex"
Define the environment variables
The server is configured to work against a GraphQL API for one of the TrueRag systems. Once you created the TrueRAG environment, copy the API key and endpoint from the environment variables.
Create a .env file in the root directory of the repository and add the following lines:
GRAPHQL_API_KEY = "{your_api_key}"
GRAPHQL_ENDPOINT = "{your_graphql_endpoint}"
Add to the MCP Client, such as Claude Desktop
Add the following lines to the Claude configuration file (~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json):
"shipping-policies": {
"command": "uv",
"args": [
"--directory",
"{path_to_mcp_server}/mcp-server-trueRAG",
"run",
"fastmcp",
"run",
"server.py"
]
}

New to MCP?
From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.
An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
