About MCP Servers
This repository contains MCP servers that add tools and resources to Claude, including one for Google Sheets and a starter template. It is intended for spreadsheet operations and developers building new MCP servers from basic examples.
Key features
- 01Read, write, and append sheet data
- 02Manage and filter sheets
- 03Update cells, add formulas, and format
- 04Examples of server, tool, and resource setup
Use cases
- 01Work with Google Sheets data through Claude
- 02Use the template as a starting point for an MCP server
MCP support
The Google Sheets MCP server exposes sheet management, data operations, formulas, and formatting to MCP clients. The template includes basic server setup and example tool and resource implementations.
Configuration
Local server config is the same for every client. Copy it into your client’s MCP config file.
We haven’t collected a package or remote endpoint for this server. Follow the instructions in the project README.
Tools
Local servers expose tools only once running on your machine, and the maintainer has not provided a tool list.

New to MCP?
From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.
An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
