About Mcp Sse Job Tracker

Mcp Sse Job Tracker is an MCP client-server example using SSE, intended for developers handling asynchronous jobs and status tracking. Jobs are submitted through MCP tools, with status exposed as custom MCP resources.

Key features

  1. 01Submit asynchronous jobs through MCP tools
  2. 02Track status through custom MCP resources
  3. 03Use SSE transport

Use cases

  1. 01Submit long-running work for asynchronous processing
  2. 02Query job progress through resources
  3. 03Test MCP communication over SSE

MCP support

The server accepts asynchronous jobs through MCP tools and exposes their status as custom MCP resources; the example uses SSE transport.

Configuration

Local server config is the same for every client. Copy it into your client’s MCP config file.

From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.

An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
