About Demo MCP
Demo MCP is a Python example project containing an MCP server, client, and host integrations. It is intended for exploring server setup, SSE client connections, and debugging with Inspector.
Key features
- 01Run example MCP servers
- 02Connect with a Python demo client
- 03Try a LangChain or LangGraph host
- 04Debug with MCP Inspector
Use cases
- 01Explore a basic MCP server setup
- 02Test an SSE client connection
- 03Try an MCP host with Ollama
- 04Inspect and debug a server
MCP support
Includes example MCP servers and a Python client that connects to an SSE endpoint. MCP Inspector is used to connect to and test the server.
Configuration
Local server config is the same for every client. Copy it into your client’s MCP config file.
We haven’t collected a package or remote endpoint for this server. Follow the instructions in the project README.
Tools
Local servers expose tools only once running on your machine, and the maintainer has not provided a tool list.

From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.
An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
