About Mobbin

Mobbin’s official MCP server connects AI tools and MCP clients to Mobbin’s product-screen references for design and development work. It is hosted by Mobbin and uses OAuth authorization.

Key features

  1. 01Connects to Mobbin screen references
  2. 02Hosted Streamable HTTP server
  3. 03OAuth access authorization
  4. 04Works with multiple AI tools and MCP clients

Use cases

  1. 01Find product references for interface design
  2. 02Access Mobbin references from AI tools

MCP support

It connects MCP clients to Mobbin through a hosted Streamable HTTP server. First use requires browser-based OAuth authorization.

Configuration

Remote servers need no local install. Pick your client, then copy the config or install in one click.

Endpointhttps://api.mobbin.com/mcp
Copy install command
Claude CodeTerminal
Cursor.cursor/mcp.json
VS Code.vscode/mcp.json
Claude Desktopclaude_desktop_config.json
Windsurf~/.codeium/windsurf/mcp_config.json

Run commands in a terminal; paste JSON into the client’s MCP config and restart. Servers that need sign-in will prompt on first connect.

Tools

ParameterTypeRequiredDescription
querystringYesDescribe one screen in plain language — the UI elements you'd see and how they relate. Be specific; detail helps. Good: "login screen with biometric authentication", "checkout page with promo code field and Apple Pay button". Avoid: combining multiple screens/intents (search separately), negations ("without ads"), vague style words ("modern", "clean"), disconnected keyword lists. Name a specific app to filter results to it (e.g. "Spotify now-playing screen"). Do not include platform (ios/web) — use the dedicated parameter.
platformenumYesPlatform to searchios | web
modeenumNoSearch mode. "standard" returns results with low latency. "deep" uses an AI-powered pipeline that interprets intent and scores each candidate for relevance, keeping the strong matches — ideal for nuanced queries. "fast" is a deprecated alias for "standard" and will be removed in a future version — use "standard" instead.deep | standard | fast
exclude_screen_idsarrayNoScreen IDs to exclude from results
limitintegerNoMaximum number of screens to return. Higher number of screens returned causes increased context usage.
image_formatenumNoImage format. Use jpg if your client does not support webp.webp | jpg

Official Mobbin MCP server

Mobbin is available as an official plugin or connector in AI tools and MCP clients such as Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor, Grok, Figma and Antigravity. For a quick overview, visit our MCP product page.

Note

The Mobbin plugin is set up in mobbin/skills, not this repository. This repository only contains the MCP server configuration and does not include skills.

Setup

Recommended setup

Follow the Mobbin MCP docs to find the official Mobbin plugin or connector for your AI tool, with step-by-step setup instructions. Where your AI tool supports plugins, the Mobbin plugin bundles the Mobbin skills together with the MCP server. If it doesn't, install the Mobbin skills separately from mobbin/skills.

Manual setup with Streamable HTTP (not recommended)

Warning

Manual setup connects the MCP server only, without the Mobbin skills. Use the recommended setup if your AI tool is listed.

Mobbin's MCP server is hosted at https://api.mobbin.com/mcp and uses the Streamable HTTP transport. There is nothing to clone, install, or run locally, and no API key to configure. Add it to your MCP client as a Streamable HTTP server:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "mobbin": {
      "url": "https://api.mobbin.com/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Some clients need the transport stated explicitly. In Cline, add "type": "streamableHttp" alongside url, otherwise it falls back to the legacy SSE transport and the connection fails.

On first use, your client opens a browser window to sign in to Mobbin and authorize access via OAuth.

For the tools the server exposes, see docs.mobbin.com/mcp/features.

New to MCP?

From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.

An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
