About my-mcp-server with TypeScript
This example project shows how to build an MCP server with TypeScript, define custom tools, and execute them over the MCP protocol. It also demonstrates registering the server with a host such as Cline.
Key features
- 01Set up an MCP server with TypeScript
- 02Define custom tools
- 03Execute tools over the MCP protocol
- 04Integrate with Cline
Use cases
- 01Set up a TypeScript MCP server example
- 02Add custom tools to a server
- 03Test tool calls over the MCP protocol
- 04Register the server in Cline
MCP support
The project explains how to build an MCP server, run tools through the MCP protocol, and configure the server with hosts such as Cline.
Configuration
Local server config is the same for every client. Copy it into your client’s MCP config file.
We haven’t collected a package or remote endpoint for this server. Follow the instructions in the project README.
Tools
Local servers expose tools only once running on your machine, and the maintainer has not provided a tool list.

New to MCP?
From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.
An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
