Model Context Protocol Server for NebulaGraph
LocalAbout Model Context Protocol Server for NebulaGraph
An MCP server for NebulaGraph 3.x graph databases. It suits setups where LLM tooling needs to explore graph data, covering schema, queries and a few shortcut algorithms.
Key features
- 01Access to NebulaGraph 3.x
- 02Schema and query operations
- 03A few shortcut graph algorithms
- 04Configuration via environment variables and .env files
- 05Command-line interface
Use cases
- 01Letting LLM tools query NebulaGraph graph data
- 02Exploring the schema of a graph database
MCP support
This project is an MCP server that provides access to NebulaGraph for LLM tooling systems that support MCP.
Configuration
Local server config is the same for every client. Copy it into your client’s MCP config file.
Tools
Local servers expose tools only once running on your machine, and the maintainer has not provided a tool list.
Details
From the project READMEModel Context Protocol Server for NebulaGraph
A Model Context Protocol (MCP) server implementation that provides access to NebulaGraph.
Features
- Seamless access to NebulaGraph 3.x .
- Get ready for graph exploration, you know, Schema, Query, and a few shortcut algorithms.
- Follow Model Context Protocol, ready to integrate with LLM tooling systems.
- Simple command-line interface with support for configuration via environment variables and .env files.

Installation
pip install nebulagraph-mcp-server
Usage
nebulagraph-mcp-server will load configs from .env, for example:
NEBULA_VERSION=v3 # only v3 is supported
NEBULA_HOST=<your-nebulagraph-server-host>
NEBULA_PORT=<your-nebulagraph-server-port>
NEBULA_USER=<your-nebulagraph-server-user>
NEBULA_PASSWORD=<your-nebulagraph-server-password>
It requires the value of
NEBULA_VERSIONto be equal to v3 until we are ready for v5.
Development

uv run nebulagraph-mcp-server

New to MCP?
From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.
An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
