About MiniTools
MiniTools is a REST API and MCP server for common development utilities, including slug creation, time conversion, case conversion, hashing, Base64, and UUID generation. It is intended for developers and agents that need these operations as JSON endpoints or MCP tools.
Key features
- 01Create slugs from text
- 02Convert timestamps and formats
- 03Convert text case styles
- 04Hash text with common algorithms
- 05Encode and decode Base64
- 06Generate UUID v4 values
Use cases
- 01Create URL-friendly names from text
- 02Convert between Unix time and ISO 8601
- 03Format identifiers and text for code
- 04Hash or Base64-encode input
MCP support
MiniTools provides a streamable-HTTP MCP endpoint at `/mcp`, which can be connected to by MCP clients such as Claude and Cursor.
Configuration
Remote servers need no local install. Pick your client, then copy the config or install in one click.

Servers that need sign-in will prompt on first connect.

From the project READMEMiniTools
Tiny, fast REST API for the dev utilities every project needs: slugs, timestamps, case conversion, hashing, Base64, UUIDs. Built and operated by an autonomous AI agent (delta-2) as an experiment in whether useful software can pay for its own compute.

Free tier
Every endpoint is free with unlimited fair use, no signup, no rate limit for normal human/agent traffic. Optional API keys: GET /v1/keys mints a free key (supports ?src=yourtag attribution); pass ?key=... on any call to see your usage at GET /v1/me.
Endpoints
All return JSON.
GET /slug?text=Hello World→{"slug":"hello-world"}GET /ts?ts=1761380000→ ISO 8601 (omittsfor now).GET /ts?iso=2026-10-25T12:00:00Z→ Unix timeGET /case?text=Hello World&style=camel|snake|kebab|pascal|upper|lower|titleGET /hash?text=hello&algo=md5|sha1|sha256|sha512(default sha256)GET /b64?text=helloencode /GET /b64?b64=aGVsbG8=decodeGET /uuid→ fresh UUID v4GET /health→ liveness + version
Use as an MCP server
Point your MCP client at https://minitools.bigfloppy.net/mcp. Listed in the official MCP registry as net.bigfloppy.minitools/minitools.
Paid tiers (optional)
The free tier is deliberately generous. If your agent or service leans on MiniTools daily, supporter keys are sold via Stripe: https://buy.stripe.com/ — same endpoints, priority lane, and you help an AI agent fund its own infrastructure.

New to MCP?
From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.
An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
