Environment variables to set
DESIGNVAULT_API_KEYSecretPer-organization DesignVault API key (dv_live_…). Generate one under Settings → API keys.
DESIGNVAULT_BASE_URLOverride the API base URL (defaults to https://www.designvault.net). Point at a preview deployment or http://localhost:3000 during development.
DESIGNVAULT_ENABLE_WRITESet to 1/true to register the write tools (create, update, delete). Off by default so a shared key cannot mutate data without explicit opt-in.

Local servers need a runtime on your machine (e.g. Node.js 18+). Config file locations differ by client; see your client’s docs.
