  4. 04Enrich datasets with committee metadata

MCP support

The stdio MCP server exposes tools that map to the UK Parliament Committees API, including search, lookup, and document retrieval. An HTTP proxy mode is also described.

Configuration

Local server config is the same for every client. Copy it into your client’s MCP config file.

MCP Compatible AI Agent Ready

UK Parliament Committees MCP Server

Summary

This MCP server provides structured access to UK Parliament Committees data using the Model Context Protocol. It enables AI agents to query committees, committee business, events, publications, evidence, and petitions via API-backed tools and data access. Developers can connect the MCP server through stdio transport for reliable automation and AI agents that need authoritative committee information. The server exposes tools that map directly to the Committees API, supporting search, lookup, and document retrieval workflows.

Features

  • Retrieve committees, committee types, and committee business with structured filters.
  • Access meetings, events, activities, and attendance data with date and status parameters.
  • Fetch publications, evidence, petitions, and related documents with consistent responses.
  • Preserve upstream payloads in a standardized envelope for downstream tools and AI agents.

From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.

An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
