About π Nostr MCP Server
Nostr MCP Server is an MCP server that lets AI models interact with the Nostr network, such as posting notes. It suits developers who want LLMs to connect to a decentralized social protocol, and it can connect to multiple relays.
Key features
- 01Post notes to the Nostr network
- 02Connect to multiple relays
- 03MCP-compliant API
- 04Server-Sent Events support for real-time communication
- 05Lightning zap sending (work in progress)
Use cases
- 01Letting an AI model publish Nostr notes
- 02Connecting Nostr to MCP clients such as Claude Desktop
- 03Testing LLM integration with a decentralized social network
MCP support
This project is an MCP server that exposes the post_note and send_zap tools to MCP clients, with send_zap still in progress.
Configuration
Local server config is the same for every client. Copy it into your clientβs MCP config file.
Tools
Local servers expose tools only once running on your machine, and the maintainer has not provided a tool list.
Details
From the project READMEπ Nostr MCP Server
A Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that enables AI models to interact with Nostr, allowing them to post notes and interact with the freedom of speech protocol.
Censorship resistance matters, even for LLMs.

New to MCP?
From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.
An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
