About THORChain Swap
THORChain Swap is a developer resource project for the THORChain and Maya Protocol swap interface. Its public MCP server provides read-only tools for swap quotes, liquidity pools, and network information.
Key features
- 01Get swap quotes
- 02Inspect liquidity pools
- 03Check network status
- 04Support MCP Apps
- 05Provide REST API docs and OpenAPI spec
Use cases
- 01Check cross-chain swap quotes
- 02Review liquidity pool data
- 03Inspect network status
MCP support
The public MCP server is available at `/mcp` and exposes swap-quote, pool, and network tools to MCP clients. It requires no key or OAuth and uses anonymous, rate-limited access.
Configuration
Remote servers need no local install. Pick your client, then copy the config or install in one click.

Servers that need sign-in will prompt on first connect.

From the project READMETHORChain Swap
The official web interface for native cross-chain swaps, powered by THORChain and Maya Protocol — live at swap.thorchain.org.
Trade Bitcoin, Ethereum, stablecoins, and other layer-1 assets directly between chains: no bridges, no wrapped tokens, no order books, and no user accounts. Users connect their own wallet and sign transactions locally, or swap without connecting a wallet at all via memoless ("instant") swaps.
THORChain Developer Resources
THORChain developer resources for the swap interface — API docs, OpenAPI spec, auth docs, and MCP server:
- Developer portal — the index (Markdown: /developers.md)
- Quickstart — first swap quote in one request, no API key
- REST API reference — endpoints, error format, idempotency, versioning, sandbox
- MCP server reference — tools, parameter schemas, MCP Apps, rate limits
- Authentication — none needed here; where aggregator API keys come from
- SDKs —
@tcswap/sdkfor building swaps, plus Python (sdk/python) and Go (sdk/go) clients for the keyless public surfaces - Webhooks and event polling — how to track swap state without webhooks
- OpenAPI 3.1 description — the public REST API
- MCP server — public Model Context Protocol server at
/mcpwith swap-quote, pool, and network tools (supports MCP Apps) - Authentication model — anonymous, rate-limited public access; no key, token, or OAuth for the MCP server, and free aggregator API keys via the affiliate program

New to MCP?
From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.
An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
