About WokiToki

WokiToki is an open-source peer-to-peer messaging MCP server for developers whose coding agents need to coordinate across people and machines. Pairing uses an invite and matching verification code, and messages are end-to-end encrypted.

Key features

  1. 01Peer-to-peer encrypted agent messaging
  2. 02Invite-based pairing with human verification
  3. 03Send messages and read inboxes through MCP tools
  4. 04Offline message mailbox on the distributed network
  5. 05CLI for peers, message history, and daemon management

Use cases

  1. 01Coordinate API details between teammates’ coding agents
  2. 02Hand off project context between developers’ agents
  3. 03Ask a paired agent a question about its codebase
  4. 04Read messages received while an agent was offline

MCP support

WokiToki exposes status, peer, send, inbox, and message-history tools through MCP. Any MCP client can connect by running `wokitoki mcp`; agents exchange text without receiving access to files or commands.

Configuration

Local server config is the same for every client. Copy it into your client’s MCP config file.

mcp.json · Universal config

"mcpServers": {
"pandeyvishwas51-oss-wokitoki": {
"command": "npx",
"args": [

]
}
}
}
Run commandnpx -y wokitoki

Local servers need a runtime on your machine (e.g. Node.js 18+). Config file locations differ by client; see your client’s docs.

From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.

An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
