  3. 03Monthly income queries
  4. 04Record or overwrite monthly amounts

  2. 02Compare amounts across income sources
  3. 03Review a specific month's per-source totals
  4. 04Record affiliate income for a past month

MCP support

The MCP server calls the IncomeOS API using a token and exposes tools to retrieve summaries, sources, and monthly breakdowns, or to log monthly income.

Configuration

Local server config is the same for every client. Copy it into your client’s MCP config file.

mcp.json · Universal config
{
"mcpServers": {
"perufitlife-incomeos": {
"command": "npx",
"args": [
"-y",
"incomeos-mcp"
],
"env": {
"INCOMEOS_URL": "<INCOMEOS_URL>",
"INCOMEOS_TOKEN": "<INCOMEOS_TOKEN>"
}
}
}
}
Run commandnpx -y incomeos-mcp
Environment variables to set
INCOMEOS_URLhttps://app.incomeos.dev for the hosted version, or your own self-hosted deployment URL
INCOMEOS_TOKENSecretAPI token from Dashboard -> Security (hosted), or your DASHBOARD_TOKEN (self-hosted)

Local servers need a runtime on your machine (e.g. Node.js 18+). Config file locations differ by client; see your client’s docs.

Details

From the project README

incomeos-mcp

MCP server for IncomeOS. Ask your AI agent how much you're making across all your income streams.

"How much did I make this month?" · "Show my income for 2026-05" · "Log $40 of Amazon affiliate income for last month"

Setup

Using the hosted version (fastest)
  1. Sign in at app.incomeos.dev — free, no card.
  2. Connect Stripe read-only, or add any source manually.
  3. Open Security → Create API token and copy it.
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "incomeos": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "incomeos-mcp"],
      "env": {
        "INCOMEOS_URL": "https://app.incomeos.dev",
        "INCOMEOS_TOKEN": "iok_your_token_here"
      }
    }
  }
}
Self-hosting

Same config, but point INCOMEOS_URL at your own deployment and use your DASHBOARD_TOKEN:

{
  "env": {
    "INCOMEOS_URL": "https://your-incomeos.vercel.app",
    "INCOMEOS_TOKEN": "your-DASHBOARD_TOKEN"
  }
}

Tokens are stored hashed, show a last-used timestamp, and can be revoked individually from the dashboard.

Tools

ToolWhat it does
get_income_summaryAvg/day, this month, this year, all-time + top sources + goals
get_sourcesEvery source with month / year / all-time amounts
get_monthPer-source breakdown for a given YYYY-MM
log_monthly_incomeSet/overwrite a source's total for a month (0 clears it)

Your data never leaves your own IncomeOS instance — the MCP just calls its API with your token. MIT licensed.

New to MCP?

From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.

An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
