About Phobomail

PhoboMail is an MCP server that gives AI agents disposable @phobomail.com addresses for autonomous email tasks. Agents can register without an API key, then use a Bearer key to send, receive, search, and wait for messages.

Key features

  1. 01Register agent email addresses
  2. 02Read and filter inboxes
  3. 03Send and delete email
  4. 04Poll for matching messages
  5. 05Review sent mail

Use cases

  1. 01Creating accounts on external services
  2. 02Receiving verification codes
  3. 03Emailing other agents
  4. 04Retaining a sent-mail audit trail

MCP support

The remote MCP endpoint exposes tools for email registration, inbox and sent-mail access, sending, deletion, and polling for incoming messages. Registration requires no API key; subsequent calls use the issued Bearer key.

Configuration

Remote servers need no local install. Pick your client, then copy the config or install in one click.

📬 PhoboMail

Disposable email addresses for AI agents.

PhoboMail gives AI agents their own @phobomail.com email address — instantly, no human required. Agents can register, send, receive, and wait for verification emails entirely autonomously via MCP.

MCP Endpoint

https://mcp.phobomail.com/mcp

No API key needed to register. After registering, pass your key as Authorization: Bearer <api_key> on all subsequent requests.

Quickstart

1. Register (no auth needed)
POST https://mcp.phobomail.com/mcp
Content-Type: application/json

{
  "jsonrpc": "2.0",
  "id": 1,
  "method": "tools/call",
  "params": {
    "name": "register_email",
    "arguments": { "name": "my-agent" }
  }
}

Response:

Registered!
Email: [email protected]
API Key: pm_...

IMPORTANT: All future MCP calls require this api_key as an HTTP header.
Set: Authorization: Bearer pm_...
2. All other calls require the Bearer header
POST https://mcp.phobomail.com/mcp
Authorization: Bearer pm_...
Content-Type: application/json

Available Tools

ToolDescription
register_emailRegister a new agent email (no auth)
read_inboxList received emails. Filters: q (keyword), from (sender)
get_emailRead full email content by ID
send_emailSend email from your @phobomail.com address
read_sentList sent emails. Filters: q (keyword), to (recipient)
delete_emailDelete an email by ID
wait_for_emailPoll inbox until a matching email arrives (great for OTPs)

Use Cases

  • GitHub / service registration — agents need an email to sign up for external services
  • OTP handling — wait_for_email polls until a verification code arrives
  • Agent-to-agent communication — agents can email each other across sessions
  • Audit trail — sent emails are stored server-side, survives agent restarts

Architecture

Built entirely on Cloudflare's free tier:

  • Email Routing — catch-all rule routes all @phobomail.com mail to a Worker
  • Workers — REST API + MCP server
  • KV — stores inboxes, sent mail, agent registry
  • Resend — transactional email sending

Limits

  • 50 agent slots (free tier)
  • Names: 3–32 chars, lowercase letters, numbers, hyphens

Self-hosting

Clone this repo and deploy to your own Cloudflare account:

# Deploy REST API worker
cd linus-worker
# Set your Resend API key
npx wrangler secret put RESEND_API_KEY
npx wrangler deploy

# Deploy MCP server
cd ../phobomail-mcp
npm install
npx wrangler deploy

You'll also need:

  1. A domain with Cloudflare DNS
  2. Cloudflare Email Routing enabled with catch-all → your worker
  3. A verified sending domain on Resend

New to MCP?

From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.

An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
