About Pii Detector X402
Pii Detector X402 is a regex-based API and MCP server for scanning text for personally identifiable information. It is intended for AI agents and other MCP clients that need classified, redacted matches and a risk level; calls use x402 micropayments.
Key features
- 01Detects emails, phones, SSNs and card numbers
- 02Finds dates of birth, IPs and addresses
- 03Returns redacted matches, positions and confidence
- 04Provides an overall risk level
- 05Accepts pay-per-call x402 payments in USDC
Use cases
- 01Scan text before sharing it with an AI agent
- 02Locate and review sensitive data in submitted text
MCP support
Exposes the compliance_detect_pii tool to MCP clients through a remote endpoint. The tool accepts text and returns detected PII matches and an overall risk level.
Configuration
Remote servers need no local install. Pick your client, then copy the config or install in one click.

From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.
An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
