About Pipeworx

Pipeworx is a remote data gateway for AI agents, bringing live information from sources spanning finance, government, health, research, and more through one MCP connection. It combines source-specific tools with natural-language queries and multi-source compound tools.

Key features

  1. 01Access data across many domains
  2. 02Ask questions in plain English
  3. 03Discover relevant tools by describing a task
  4. 04Combine sources in compound tools
  5. 05Save and recall findings across sessions
  6. 06Cached results with freshness metadata

Use cases

  1. 01Research a company using filings and market data
  2. 02Analyze trade flows across countries
  3. 03Review drug safety and clinical trials
  4. 04Find government contract opportunities

MCP support

Pipeworx provides a remote MCP server at its gateway endpoint, exposing data tools and natural-language querying to MCP clients. Clients connect using the server URL.

Configuration

Remote servers need no local install. Pick your client, then copy the config or install in one click.

Endpointhttps://gateway.pipeworx.io/pipeworx-catalog/mcp
Copy install command
Claude CodeTerminal
Cursor.cursor/mcp.json
VS Code.vscode/mcp.json
Claude Desktopclaude_desktop_config.json
Windsurf~/.codeium/windsurf/mcp_config.json

Run commands in a terminal; paste JSON into the client’s MCP config and restart. Servers that need sign-in will prompt on first connect.

Live data for AI agents. One MCP connection gives your AI access to 1,100+ data sources and 4,600+ tools — SEC filings, FDA adverse events, trade flows, mortgage rates, clinical trials, government contracts, and more.

Pipeworx is not a directory. It's a metered data gateway. The data sources behind it — ATTOM, FRED, SEC EDGAR, ClinicalTrials.gov, UN Comtrade, EPA, BLS — are the same sources analysts and institutions pay thousands to access. Your AI agent gets them through one URL.

Connect

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "pipeworx": {
      "url": "https://gateway.pipeworx.io/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Works with Claude Desktop, Cursor, Windsurf, and any MCP client.

Ask anything

ask_pipeworx("What is the US trade deficit with China?")
→ $1.81 trillion deficit (2024, Census Bureau)

ask_pipeworx("What are the side effects of ozempic?")
→ 54,647 FDA adverse event reports

ask_pipeworx("Get Apple's latest 10-K filing")
→ SEC EDGAR filing data

ask_pipeworx("What's the current 30-year mortgage rate?")
→ FRED MORTGAGE30US series, live data

The gateway picks the right tool, fills the arguments, executes it, and returns the answer. No API keys, no schema matching, no setup.

Compound tools

These combine multiple APIs into a single call — the kind of synthesis that normally takes an analyst 5+ individual queries:

trade_bilateral_analysis({ reporter_code: "842", partner_code: "156" })
→ US-China imports, exports, top commodities, exchange rates — one call

pharma_drug_profile({ drug_name: "ozempic" })
→ FDA approvals, adverse events, drug interactions, active clinical trials — one call

fintech_company_deep_dive({ ticker: "AAPL" })
→ SEC filings, stock quote, income statement, consumer complaints — one call

New to MCP?

From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.

An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
