About Feeds
Feeds is an MCP server for reading curated RSS/Atom feeds and fetching feeds by URL. It is for clients that need normalized feed items, with category and keyword filtering.
Key features
- 01Browse curated feeds by category or keyword
- 02Read feed items by feed ID
- 03Fetch RSS, Atom, or RDF by URL
- 04Filter returned items by keyword
Use cases
- 01Find feeds on a topic or category
- 02Read recent items from a curated feed
- 03Retrieve and normalize a feed from its URL
MCP support
It exposes tools to list, read, and fetch feeds to MCP clients. It can be connected through the Pipeworx gateway.
Configuration
Remote servers need no local install. Pick your client, then copy the config or install in one click.

Live Feeds (RSS/Atom) MCP.
Part of Pipeworx — an MCP gateway connecting AI agents to 912+ live data sources.
Tools
| Tool | Description |
|---|---|
list_feeds | List the curated feeds available (id, title, category, source). Optionally filter by category (security, health, finance, business, government, science, ai, dev, news, tech, space, sports, crypto, climate, entertainment, gaming, automotive, food, design, energy, travel, photography, marketing, economics, books, law, transport, real-estate, education) or keyword. Pass an id to read_feed. |
read_feed | Read a curated feed by its id (from list_feeds). Returns normalized items (title, link, published, summary). Optionally filter items by keyword. |
fetch_feed | Fetch and normalize any RSS / Atom / RDF feed by URL. CF-robust: fetches directly and falls back to a proxy if the source blocks the gateway. Use list_feeds first for curated sources. |
Quick Start
Add to your MCP client (Claude Desktop, Cursor, Windsurf, etc.):
{
"mcpServers": {
"feeds": {
"url": "https://gateway.pipeworx.io/feeds/mcp"
}
}
}
Or connect to the full Pipeworx gateway for access to all 912+ data sources:
{
"mcpServers": {
"pipeworx": {
"url": "https://gateway.pipeworx.io/mcp"
}
}
}
Using with ask_pipeworx
Instead of calling tools directly, you can ask questions in plain English:
ask_pipeworx({ question: "your question about Feeds data" })
The gateway picks the right tool and fills the arguments automatically.

New to MCP?
From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.
An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
