MCP support
Provides workspace-scoped tools to MCP clients over remote Streamable HTTP or Server-Sent Events. Requests require a workspace API key, and tools follow team roles and workspace limits.
Configuration
Remote servers need no local install. Pick your client, then copy the config or install in one click.

Authentication
All requests to the SocialHive MCP server require a workspace API key:
- Header:
Authorization: Bearer shp_<your_api_key> - You can generate your API key in SocialHive Dashboard > Settings > API Keys (
https://socialhive.pro/app/settings/api).
Client Setup
1. Claude Desktop (claude_desktop_config.json)
Add the following to your Claude Desktop configuration file:
- macOS:
~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json - Windows:
%APPDATA%\Claude\claude_desktop_config.json
{
"mcpServers": {
"socialhive": {
"url": "https://platform.socialhive.pro/api/mcp",
"headers": {
"Authorization": "Bearer shp_YOUR_API_KEY"
}
}
}
}
2. Cursor / Windsurf / Cline / VS Code
In your client's MCP configuration file (e.g. .cursor/mcp.json or Cline MCP settings):
{
"mcpServers": {
"socialhive": {
"type": "streamable-http",
"url": "https://platform.socialhive.pro/api/mcp",
"headers": {
"Authorization": "Bearer shp_YOUR_API_KEY"
}
}
}
}
3. Programmatic Usage (TypeScript SDK)
import { Client } from "@modelcontextprotocol/sdk/client/index.js";
import { StreamableHttpClientTransport } from "@modelcontextprotocol/sdk/client/streamableHttp.js";
const transport = new StreamableHttpClientTransport(
new URL("https://platform.socialhive.pro/api/mcp"),
{
headers: {
Authorization: "Bearer shp_YOUR_API_KEY",
},
}
);
const client = new Client({ name: "my-agent", version: "1.0.0" }, { capabilities: {} });
await client.connect(transport);
const tools = await client.listTools();
console.log("Connected to SocialHive MCP! Available tools:", tools.tools.map(t => t.name));

New to MCP?
From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.
An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
