About qng-mcp

qng-mcp is an MCP server for qng. Its README shows stdio and SSE connection modes and an example querying the latest block count; capabilities can be extended through configuration.

Key features

  1. 01stdio connection mode
  2. 02SSE connection mode
  3. 03qng tool access
  4. 04Extensible configuration

Use cases

  1. 01Query the latest block count
  2. 02Connect qng through an MCP host

MCP support

Provides qng capabilities to MCP clients and supports both stdio and SSE connection modes. The example shows a tool for retrieving the latest block count.

Configuration

Local server config is the same for every client. Copy it into your client’s MCP config file.

mcp.json · Universal config
{
"mcpServers": {
"qng": {
"command": "docker",
"args": [
"run",
"-i",
"--rm",
"qng_mcp_server"
]
}
}
}
Run commanddocker run -i --rm qng_mcp_server

Local servers need a runtime on your machine (e.g. Node.js 18+). Config file locations differ by client; see your client’s docs.

New to MCP?

From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.

An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
