About Nova3D
Nova3D MCP is an MCP server that exposes Nova3D's 3D generation pipeline as tools for clients such as Codex, Cursor, VS Code and Claude Code. Its output is a GLB file with named parts and intact hierarchy rather than a fused mesh, so individual components can be edited separately.
Key features
- 01Generates GLB assets with named parts
- 02Keeps part hierarchy intact for editing
- 03Regenerates or adds individual parts
- 04Adds joints and articulation to models
- 05Opens editing sessions in a browser viewer
Use cases
- 01Producing editable 3D assets for game engines or configurators
- 02Creating articulated models for robotics simulation or AR scenes
- 03Getting quick 3D prototypes within an AI agent workflow
MCP support
This project is an MCP server that exposes tools such as nova3d_login, nova3d_status, generate_3d, regenerate_part, add_part and articulate_model to MCP clients. Model inspection happens through the returned browser link rather than an embedded IDE viewport.
Configuration
Local server config is the same for every client. Copy it into your client’s MCP config file.
uvx nova3d-mcpNOVA3D_TOKENSecretAdvanced/manual fallback API key from https://app.nova3d.xyz/api-key. Preferred onboarding is browser sign-in via nova3d_login.NOVA3D_APP_URLApp URL used for conversation links, for example https://app.nova3d.xyz or http://127.0.0.1:5555Local servers need a runtime on your machine (e.g. Node.js 18+). Config file locations differ by client; see your client’s docs.
Tools
Local servers expose tools only once running on your machine, and the maintainer has not provided a tool list.
Details
The maintainer has not added details yet. Check the README in the repository.

New to MCP?
From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.
An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
