About agentmap
agentmap is a repository map server for coding agents that works on TypeScript and JavaScript projects. It uses ts-morph to resolve imports, symbols and dependents, and returns ranked, token-budgeted answers. It suits developers who want agents to find code with less context consumption than file reads or grep.
Key features
- 01Compiler-grade TS/JS resolution via ts-morph
- 02Dependents and blast-radius queries (--relates)
- 03Symbol definition lookup (--find)
- 04Token-budgeted ranked repo overview (--map)
- 05Post-commit hook that rebuilds the cached map
Use cases
- 01Listing files that depend on a module before changing it
- 02Locating a symbol definition without grepping many files
- 03Producing a compact repo overview at the start of an agent session
MCP support
agentmap runs as an MCP server and exposes its repository map queries to MCP clients.
Configuration
Local server config is the same for every client. Copy it into your client’s MCP config file.
Tools
Local servers expose tools only once running on your machine, and the maintainer has not provided a tool list.
Details
The maintainer has not added details yet. Check the README in the repository.

New to MCP?
From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.
An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
