About rosh-mcp

Rosh MCP Server lets AI systems create web apps, games, and 3D scenes with Rosh, a plain-English programming language. It compiles programs into HTML output for web, Phaser, or Three.js targets and can publish them to rosh.cloud.

Key features

  1. 01Retrieve Rosh language reference
  2. 02Compile Rosh code to HTML
  3. 03Publish and manage programs
  4. 04List and inspect programs
  5. 05Hide or reveal programs

Use cases

  1. 01Build a browser-based interactive app
  2. 02Create a game with Phaser
  3. 03Produce a 3D scene with Three.js

MCP support

Exposes Rosh documentation, compilation, and rosh.cloud program management tools to MCP clients. All tools require an API key, with access controlled by read, write, or moderate scopes.

Configuration

Local server config is the same for every client. Copy it into your client’s MCP config file.

mcp.json · Universal config
{
"mcpServers": {
"rosh-studio-rosh": {
"command": "uvx",
"args": [
"rosh-mcp"
]
}
}
}
Run commanduvx rosh-mcp

Local servers need a runtime on your machine (e.g. Node.js 18+). Config file locations differ by client; see your client’s docs.

Rosh MCP Server

Give any AI the power to create and publish interactive web apps, games, and 3D scenes using Rosh — a plain-English programming language.

What is Rosh?

Rosh lets you write programs in plain English:

create box called player at 400 300
set player color "blue"
on key "ArrowRight" then set player x to player x + 5

This compiles to a runnable HTML5 canvas app, a Phaser game, or a Three.js 3D scene — depending on the target.

Quick Start

Claude Desktop / Claude Code

Add to your MCP config (~/.claude/mcp.json or Claude Desktop settings):

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "rosh": {
      "command": "uvx",
      "args": ["rosh-mcp"],
      "env": {
        "ROSH_API_KEY": "rosh_k1_your_key_here"
      }
    }
  }
}
Cursor / Windsurf

Same config format — add to your MCP settings file.

Get an API Key
  1. Create an account at rosh.cloud
  2. Go to Settings → API Keys
  3. Create a key with read,write scopes

Note: All tools require an API key — set ROSH_API_KEY before starting the server.

Example Prompts

Try these with any MCP-capable AI:

  • "Build me a space shooter game" — AI reads docs, writes Rosh code, compiles to Phaser
  • "Create a 3D rotating sculpture" — compiles to Three.js
  • "Make an interactive dashboard with buttons and counters" — compiles to web
  • "Show me what Rosh can do" — AI calls rosh_docs and explores

New to MCP?

From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.

An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
