About Agent Bits
Agent Bits offers machine-readable utilities and datasets for AI agents through HTTP and MCP. Its public catalog covers common metadata lookups, conversions, and validation; this repository contains documentation and discovery metadata, not the service implementation.
Key features
- 01Look up country, currency, language, and MIME metadata
- 02Convert time zones, timestamps, and common units
- 03Validate ISBNs, UUIDs, Luhn numbers, and JSON
- 04Encode or decode Base64 and URL components
- 05Retrieve the complete countries dataset
Use cases
- 01Look up country or currency information by code
- 02Convert timestamps, time zones, or units
- 03Validate JSON, ISBN, or UUID input
- 04Retrieve country data in an x402-enabled environment
MCP support
Provides catalog tools to MCP clients at https://agentbits.dev/mcp. Most capabilities are free; the complete countries dataset uses x402 payment in USDC on Base.
Configuration
Remote servers need no local install. Pick your client, then copy the config or install in one click.

Servers that need sign-in will prompt on first connect.

How agents discover Agent Bits
- Read
for-agents.mdor https://agentbits.dev/for-agents - Fetch
catalog.json - Select a capability using description +
use_when/do_not_use_when - Open the capability page under
tools/ - Invoke MCP or HTTP
Payments
Paid capabilities use x402 on Base with USDC.
No account. No API key. No signup. Agents can pay programmatically.
Unpaid paid requests return HTTP 402 with machine-readable payment instructions.
See docs/payments.md.
Status
Initial MVP capabilities are published in the catalog.

New to MCP?
From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.
An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
