About Salesforce MCP Server
Salesforce MCP Server is an MCP server that connects to Salesforce through its REST API using jsforce. It is aimed at developers and teams who want AI clients to query and maintain Salesforce data, and it can be installed into Claude Desktop via Smithery.
Key features
- 01Execute SOQL queries
- 02Retrieve object metadata
- 03Create, update, and delete records
- 04Authentication handling with environment credentials
- 05Real-time data access
Use cases
- 01Letting an AI assistant query Salesforce account and contact data
- 02Reading Salesforce object structures from an MCP client
- 03Creating or updating Salesforce records during a conversation
MCP support
This project is an MCP server that exposes query, describe-object, create, update and delete tools to MCP clients.
Configuration
Local server config is the same for every client. Copy it into your client’s MCP config file.
Tools
Local servers expose tools only once running on your machine, and the maintainer has not provided a tool list.

Features
- Execute SOQL queries
- Retrieve object metadata
- Create, update, and delete records
- Secure authentication handling
- Real-time data access
Setup
- Clone the repository
- Copy
.env.exampleto.envand fill in your Salesforce credentials - Install dependencies:

"Email": "[email protected]"
}
}
}
delete
Delete a record:
{
"name": "delete",
"parameters": {
"objectName": "Contact",
"id": "003XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX"
}
}
Running evals
The evals package loads an mcp client that then runs the index.ts file, so there is no need to rebuild between tests. You can load environment variables by prefixing the npx command. Full documentation can be found here.

Security
Make sure to:
- Keep your
.envfile secure and never commit it - Use IP restrictions in Salesforce when possible
- Regularly rotate your security token
- Consider implementing additional authentication for the MCP server

New to MCP?
From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.
An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
