Key features
- 01Analyze messages for scope violations
- 02Classify violation severity
- 03Draft firm, friendly, and neutral replies
- 04Generate change order documents
Use cases
- 01Check whether a client request exceeds a contract
- 02Prepare a response to a scope violation
- 03Create a change order for additional work
- 04Apply scope checks across agency clients
MCP support
The server exposes `analyze_scope_creep` and `generate_change_order` tools to MCP clients. Its Claude Desktop setup uses an API key.
Configuration
Local server config is the same for every client. Copy it into your client’s MCP config file.
We haven’t collected a package or remote endpoint for this server. Follow the instructions in the project README.
Tools
Local servers expose tools only once running on your machine, and the maintainer has not provided a tool list.
Details
From the project README@ebenova/scope-guard-mcp
AI-powered contract scope violation detector. Paste your contract + client message — get back violation type, severity, 3 professional response drafts, and change order pricing. Zero API competitors.
What it does
You say to Claude:
"My contract says 5 pages and 2 revisions. The client just sent: 'Can you also add a blog section? Shouldn't take long.' Is this scope creep?"
Claude calls the tool and returns:
- Violation detected: Yes — feature addition outside agreed scope
- Severity: Medium
- 3 response drafts (firm, friendly, neutral) ready to send
- Change order: Recommended additional cost + timeline extension

New to MCP?
From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.
An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
