About Nextmail

Nextmail connects AI agents to a Nextmail mailbox for businesses, developers and agent builders. It combines a remote MCP server with skills for email workflows, disposable inbox testing and migration from Resend.

Key features

  1. 01Send email through SDKs, API or CLI
  2. 02Work with a mailbox over MCP
  3. 03Use disposable inboxes for signup tests
  4. 04Move from Resend

Use cases

  1. 01Send email from application code
  2. 02Process messages in a mailbox
  3. 03Test signup flows using verification email
  4. 04Migrate an email setup from Resend

MCP support

The remote Nextmail MCP server at `https://api.nextmail.sh/mcp` provides mailbox access to clients after OAuth sign-in. Consent settings control the permissions and addresses available to the agent.

Configuration

Remote servers need no local install. Pick your client, then copy the config or install in one click.

Endpointhttps://api.nextmail.sh/mcp
Copy install command
Claude CodeTerminal
Cursor.cursor/mcp.json
VS Code.vscode/mcp.json
Claude Desktopclaude_desktop_config.json
Windsurf~/.codeium/windsurf/mcp_config.json

Run commands in a terminal; paste JSON into the client’s MCP config and restart. Servers that need sign-in will prompt on first connect.

Nextmail for AI agents

Email for AI agents and for the people who build them, from Nextmail. This repository connects your agent to your own Nextmail mailbox, and teaches it the jobs people most often hand to an agent: sending email from code, working through an inbox, catching verification emails in tests, and moving from Resend.

What is in it

  • One MCP server, https://api.nextmail.sh/mcp, the remote server Nextmail runs. Your client signs in with OAuth in the browser, and on the consent page you choose which permissions and which addresses the agent may use. You can narrow or remove the connection later under Account, Connected apps.
  • Four skills, in skills/: sending email with the SDKs, the API or the CLI; working in a mailbox over MCP; disposable inboxes for sign-up tests; and moving from Resend.

What it runs, sends and fetches

Nothing in this repository runs on your machine. The skills are written instructions, and the plugin adds one remote MCP server, which your client reaches over HTTPS at https://api.nextmail.sh/mcp once you have signed in. Its tools act on your Nextmail workspace, with the permissions you approved, and every tool is marked as reading or as making changes, so your client can ask before anything is sent or changed. The skills link to the documentation at https://nextmail.sh, and to the Nextmail SDK and CLI packages, which are installed only if you choose to.

New to MCP?

From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.

An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
