About Mowgli

Mowgli is a product-design canvas with a `mowgli` Agent Skill for moving designs between a codebase and a Mowgli project. Screens and specifications stay in sync, and designs are managed as code.

Key features

  1. 01Sync designs between codebases and Mowgli projects
  2. 02Keep screens and specifications in sync
  3. 03Iterate on designs in natural language
  4. 04Support version control and team collaboration

Use cases

  1. 01Push designs from an existing codebase to Mowgli
  2. 02Pull designs from Mowgli back into a codebase

MCP support

Clients without Agent Skills support can connect to the Mowgli MCP server at `https://app.mowgli.ai/mcp` for the same interoperability.

Configuration

Remote servers need no local install. Pick your client, then copy the config or install in one click.

Run commands in a terminal; paste JSON into the client’s MCP config and restart. Servers that need sign-in will prompt on first connect.

Mowgli Skill

Agent Skills for Mowgli: Intelligent canvas for product design with context and taste.

What is Mowgli?

Mowgli is an intelligent, spec-driven canvas for product design. It stores a frontend as a set of screens, each in a variety of states, plus a specification with user journeys that serves as the source-of-truth. Mowgli screens are just code, which means there is zero drift between the design and the implementation.

Mowgli allows a user to quickly and easily experiment, tweak, extending, and brainstorm on a design and has full version control. Coupled with its collaboration & team features and coding agent integration, it's a powerful tool for aligning on how the product will look and feel before diving into implementation.

The Mowgli skill

This repository publishes a single skill, mowgli, which lets a coding agent push designs from a real codebase into a Mowgli project and pull them back. This is achieved using the mowgli CLI, published on npm. It keeps the screens and the specification in sync so the project stays spec-backed on every change.

Install

Install the skill into any skills-aware agent with a single command:

npx skills add mowgli-ai/skills

No skills support? Use the MCP server instead

If your agent does not support Agent Skills, or cannot run terminal commands, you can get the same Mowgli interoperability by connecting the Mowgli MCP server at:

From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.

An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
